Financial Navigator Program

Even with health insurance, the financial impact of cancer treatment can be challenging for an individual or a family to handle. The Helen F. Graham Cancer Center's Financial Navigator Program may help to alleviate some of the financial stress or hardship associated with your cancer treatment. This free program can help you to make informed financial decisions and even offer a second opinion on financial options you are considering. Our advisers can provide assistance with budgets, taxes, financial strategies, credit options, investing and insurance. Referrals, if requested, may be provided to financial professionals, insurance agents, attorneys, bankers and investment advisors who can provide you with further help.

A Financial Navigator Program representative is available weekly to meet with patients at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center. Please call us to schedule a free consultation.

How the program works

The Financial Navigator Program is an independent, not-for-profit organization, providing a confidential service for you that is available at any point in your cancer care. As educators and advocates, the counselors of the Financial Navigator Program provide explanations to promote your financial comprehension and decision making.

The Financial Navigator Program will assign a volunteer with financial expertise to help you. Our volunteer advisers have spent many years in the financial-services industry and will provide you with unbiased, confidential advice. Your personal volunteer will assist you in analyzing your present situation, explain options that you may wish to consider and provide you with information needed to make informed decisions. Your adviser will not sell you a product or service, but will instead help you understand the financial products or services you may wish to consider in response to your specific needs. If you require a referral to a financial or other professional, the volunteers of the Financial Navigator Program will be happy to help you make that selection.
